Overview
- Serve as a technical advisor, assisting in customer needs assessment and feasibility validation.
- Prepare accurate estimates and professional proposals for customer requests and RFIs/RFPs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proposal accuracy and readiness.
- Identify scope gaps, project risks, and value engineering opportunities for profitability enhancement.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, revisions, and vendor quotes.
- Support process improvements and standardization of estimating tools and templates.
- Provide technical expertise in hardware, doors, locksmithing, and access control systems.
- Conduct thorough reviews of blueprints, specifications, and site evaluations.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Assess customer needs and validate scope feasibility as a technical advisor.
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates using estimating software and vendor pricing.
- Develop professional proposals and quotes for RFIs, RFPs, and customer requests.
- Source and secure pricing from manufacturers, distributors, and subcontractors.
- Assist in preparation and review of shop drawings and hardware schedules.
- Collaborate with sales and operations teams to ensure proposal accuracy.
- Identify scope gaps and project risks to enhance competitiveness.
- Support process improvements and standardization of tools and templates.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; advanced education preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience, with 10 years preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hardware, doors, locksmithing, and access control systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with estimating software.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple estimates.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for vendor coordination.
