Overview
- Contribute to the design and development of electrical systems for commercial, educational, and institutional building projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success and compliance with industry standards.
- Utilize technical expertise to perform electrical calculations, equipment sizing, and voltage drop analysis.
- Engage in construction administration tasks, including shop drawing review and responding to RFIs.
- Participate in client and project meetings to discuss scope, budget, and schedules.
- Develop applications, permits, engineering reports, and specifications for various projects.
- Support marketing efforts through technical presentations and proposal development.
- Work in a hybrid environment, balancing office and remote work arrangements.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Coordinate and design electrical systems adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Perform engineering tasks related to project development, design, and construction phases.
- Communicate effectively with architects, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct site observations and provide technical support during construction phases.
- Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs to ensure project alignment.
- Assist in developing project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
- Prepare engineering reports, specifications, and permit applications.
- Participate in professional organization meetings and staff discussions.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree.
- Professional Engineer license preferred (NJ & NY) or FE/EIT certification.
- Minimum of five years of experience in electrical engineering; seven years preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and power analysis design software.
- Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, and electrical equipment standards.
- Valid driver’s license required for occasional site visits.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple assignments.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
