Job Description

Overview

  • Contribute to the design and development of electrical systems for commercial, educational, and institutional building projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success and compliance with industry standards.
  • Utilize technical expertise to perform electrical calculations, equipment sizing, and voltage drop analysis.
  • Engage in construction administration tasks, including shop drawing review and responding to RFIs.
  • Participate in client and project meetings to discuss scope, budget, and schedules.
  • Develop applications, permits, engineering reports, and specifications for various projects.
  • Support marketing efforts through technical presentations and proposal development.
  • Work in a hybrid environment, balancing office and remote work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate and design electrical systems adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Perform engineering tasks related to project development, design, and construction phases.
  • Communicate effectively with architects, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct site observations and provide technical support during construction phases.
  • Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs to ensure project alignment.
  • Assist in developing project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Prepare engineering reports, specifications, and permit applications.
  • Participate in professional organization meetings and staff discussions.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree.
  • Professional Engineer license preferred (NJ & NY) or FE/EIT certification.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in electrical engineering; seven years preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and power analysis design software.
  • Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, and electrical equipment standards.
  • Valid driver’s license required for occasional site visits.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple assignments.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
