Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct regular site safety audits, inspections, and job hazard analyses to identify and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with project managers and field crews to enforce safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training for employees to promote safety awareness.
- Develop and update site-specific safety plans and emergency action plans tailored to project needs.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety standards through reviews of JHAs and safety submittals.
- Maintain comprehensive safety records, logs, and reports in line with regulatory and company standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety performance and behavior-based safety programs.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; certifications such as OSHA 30, CHST, or STSC preferred.
- 2–5+ years of safety experience in construction, with knowledge of OSHA regulations and risk mitigation strategies.
- Strong communication and coaching skills to influence field teams effectively.
- Familiarity with safety management systems and construction project workflows.
- Organized, self-driven, and comfortable spending significant time on job sites.
- Ability to conduct safety audits, inspections, and training sessions for diverse teams.
- Proficient in maintaining accurate safety records and documentation.
- Experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives in safety performance.
