Job Description

Overview

  • Provide professional occupational therapy services to patients, ensuring optimal care and recovery outcomes.
  • Conduct evaluations, re-evaluations, and assessments to determine OT diagnoses and develop individualized care plans.
  • Implement therapy procedures to restore function, improve mobility, and relieve pain effectively.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and treatment planning.
  • Adapt treatment plans based on patient progress and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Prepare detailed clinical and progress notes to document skilled interventions and outcomes.
  • Participate in team meetings and case conferences to support patient care needs.
  • Provide supervision and coordination for Occupational Therapy Assistants and Home Health Aides.
  • Ensure compliance with state and organizational policies and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform timely evaluations and assessments to determine patient needs and develop care plans.
  • Provide therapeutic treatments and evaluate equipment needs for patient recovery.
  • Complete OASIS assessments and reassessments to monitor patient progress.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to update care plans.
  • Document clinical interventions and assess outcomes to ensure effective therapy.
  • Participate in training and support activities for team members and students.
  • Modify treatment plans to maximize therapeutic benefits and meet discharge criteria.
  • Drive personal vehicle for business purposes as required to perform job functions.
  • Maintain compliance with licensing and certification requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy required.
  • Valid Occupational Therapy license from Virginia Department of Health Professions required.
  • CPR/BLS certification from recognized organizations within 30 days of hire required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of occupational therapy experience preferred.
  • Ability to drive personal vehicle for business purposes as needed.
  • Strong knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan.
  • Proficiency in evidence-based guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and adaptability to various patient care settings.
