Job Description

Overview

  • Lead tax compliance and planning efforts within a dynamic team of professionals.
  • Prepare and review complex tax returns, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Supervise and mentor tax staff, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with partners and business managers on client-related matters.
  • Conduct tax research and resolve complex issues with documented analyses.
  • Participate in continuing professional education and internal training programs.
  • Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare individual, partnership, corporate, trust, and estate tax returns, including multi-state and foreign filings.
  • Review tax projections and quarterly estimates prepared by staff.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor tax staff, providing technical support.
  • Respond to inquiries and audit requests from tax authorities.
  • Research complex tax issues and prepare detailed documentation.
  • Review client meeting packages and provide insights.
  • Communicate effectively with partners and business managers.
  • Attend professional development and training sessions.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related tax experience, 10 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CCH Axcess software.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statement analysis, and tax research.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Professionalism and problem-solving skills are essential.
