Job Description

Overview

  • Provide administrative support to attorneys and professionals in a legal environment.
  • Assist with document preparation, indexing, and revision for legal matters.
  • Perform conflict check management and legal incorporation searches.
  • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements.
  • Handle document administration, including engagement letters and correspondence.
  • Support financial coordination tasks such as transfers and wires.
  • Utilize document management systems for efficient record keeping.
  • Interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and external counsel.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct periodic searches via government databases for legal purposes.
  • Prepare and send mail, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Coordinate with accounting for financial transactions and reporting.
  • Provide general office support and maintain confidentiality standards.
  • Assist with state and federal court filings and legal documentation.
  • Maintain electronic records and ensure compliance with filing protocols.
  • Support multiple attorneys in various practice groups effectively.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of transactional legal assistant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with legal time and billing systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with Federal and South Carolina State Court filing systems.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • High school diploma required; associate degree or paralegal certificate preferred.
