Job Description

Overview

  • The Senior Accountant will oversee financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency within the accounting department.
  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure alignment between accounting results and forecasts.
  • Manage month-end close processes, reconciliations, and audit readiness documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
  • Support tax compliance efforts, including multi-state sales tax and franchise tax filings.
  • Drive process improvements and leverage accounting systems for data accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide variance analysis and collaborate on budget and forecasting processes.
  • Contribute to financial reviews and reporting for management and board presentations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements compliant with US GAAP.
  • Perform reconciliations for key accounts, including cash, AR, AP, and deferred revenue.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, ensuring timely completion of audit schedules.
  • Manage accounts payable processes, vendor onboarding, and expense reimbursements.
  • Support revenue recognition processes under ASC 606, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
  • Assist with tax compliance, including state sales tax filings and franchise tax reporting.
  • Collaborate on system optimization initiatives to improve accounting workflows.
  • Provide data integrity checks and reconciliations for forecasting and budgeting models.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in SaaS or technology industries.
  • Proficiency in US GAAP, ASC 606, and general ledger accounting principles.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems; familiarity with integrated tools like Salesforce.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative in process improvement and automation efforts.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
