Job Description

Overview

  • Provide logistical support to facilitate order contract fulfillment within the Chemicals Department.
  • Work under minimal supervision, applying knowledge of compliance regulations and risk management operations.
  • Handle purchase orders, sales confirmations, and contracts using SAP systems.
  • Negotiate sales and purchase terms with customers and suppliers to finalize contracts.
  • Prepare and review shipping documents for customs, brokers, customers, and banks.
  • Ensure timely payments to suppliers and vendors while managing accounts receivable.
  • Monitor inventory levels and negotiate freight rates to optimize profitability.
  • Analyze transportation options to ensure efficient and cost-effective deliveries.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members and assist with compliance updates.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Issue and evaluate purchase orders, sales confirmations, and contracts in SAP.
  • Negotiate detailed letters of credit with banks to ensure timely payments.
  • Prepare and process ISF filings to comply with customs regulations.
  • Create detailed spreadsheets for invoice control, shipment reports, and inventory reconciliations.
  • Communicate with compliance departments regarding customs and EPA regulations.
  • Close monthly ledgers and resolve discrepancies effectively.
  • Provide aged inventory reports and study new trade regulations.
  • Analyze information to suggest solutions for complex logistical issues.
  • Support team members during absences and ensure operational continuity.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in import/export procedures and logistics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with SAP systems.
  • Knowledge of EPA regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in negotiating freight rates and managing inventory levels.
  • Accountability for achieving financial targets and maintaining confidentiality.
