Job Description

Overview

  • Contribute to the success of construction projects by providing accurate cost estimates and innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project scopes and strategies align with organizational goals.
  • Engage in both office-based tasks and active site visits to assess conditions and requirements.
  • Promote continuous improvement in estimating methods and construction practices.
  • Work in a dynamic environment that values professionalism, ethical behavior, and high standards of excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures across all work locations.
  • Take ownership of work products and contribute to winning profitable projects.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Analyze project documentation to prepare accurate time, cost, and labor estimates.
  • Perform scope determinations and quantity surveys for multi-discipline projects.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes to develop comprehensive scopes.
  • Lead meetings with subcontractors to discuss strategies and ensure alignment.
  • Develop strategies to meet minority participation requirements.
  • Monitor and compare estimated costs to actual costs for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare responses to RFQs and RFPs to support project acquisition efforts.
  • Conduct site visits to assess conditions and identify potential challenges.

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Science degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a commercial construction estimator.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Field experience and familiarity with conceptual and self-perform estimating.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including active construction sites.
