Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the strategic and operational management of Women’s & Children’s Services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards of care.
  • Oversee a multidisciplinary team and advanced health technology to deliver safe, coordinated care for women, infants, and pediatric populations.
  • Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, and standards that meet clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements.
  • Ensure optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction through evidence-based practices and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Cultivate a supportive environment encouraging professional growth, staff engagement, and adherence to clinical standards.
  • Prepare, monitor, and evaluate departmental budgets, ensuring compliance with allocated funding and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and hospital leadership to enhance care coordination and patient experience.
  • Maintain regular attendance and perform additional responsibilities as assigned within the department.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Direct and evaluate Women’s & Children’s Services including labor & delivery, postpartum, nursery, NICU, and pediatric care.
  • Oversee hiring, orientation, evaluations, corrective actions, and continuing education for departmental staff.
  • Integrate evidence-based nursing practices into protocols and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Prepare, monitor, and evaluate departmental budgets, ensuring compliance with funding and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and hospital leadership to enhance care coordination and patient experience.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork and accountability among perioperative nursing staff.
  • Ensure ongoing staff education, competency, and adherence to clinical and patient safety standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement and foster a culture of excellence and professional growth within the department.

Job Requirements

  • Associate degree in a relevant field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare leadership roles, preferably in Women’s & Children’s Services.
  • Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and advanced health technology effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and evidence-based nursing practices.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial management and budget compliance.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with physicians, hospital leadership, and staff.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and adapt to additional responsibilities as needed.
