Job Description

Overview

  • Lead financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
  • Oversee internal controls, ensuring adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and corporate policies.
  • Coordinate audits and prepare accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage month-end close processes and ensure timely reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
  • Facilitate budget preparation and cost reporting under the guidance of senior financial leadership.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making by providing financial insights and analysis.
  • Maintain the accuracy of financial statements and balance sheets through diligent review processes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise Assistant Controller and accounting personnel, ensuring quality service and technical expertise.
  • Organize departmental functions, assigning responsibilities and monitoring activities for timely completion.
  • Establish productivity goals and foster open communication within the department.
  • Prepare budgets, cost reports, and ad hoc financial analyses as directed by senior leadership.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, addressing discrepancies promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure timely completion of month-end close processes for hospital and associated entities.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and complete required documentation for compliance purposes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting, auditing, and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop accounting staff.
  • Experience in healthcare financial management is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills to manage complex financial operations.
  • Ability to work on-site and collaborate effectively with hospital management.
