Job Description

Overview

  • Lead financial and administrative operations for a dynamic, multi-location organization in the outdoor recreation industry.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop financial strategies and drive divisional performance improvements.
  • Oversee accounting, finance, payroll, IT, and office operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strategic financial analysis, including profitability metrics, margin trends, and inventory turnover insights.
  • Foster a high-performance culture by coaching and developing team members across multiple departments.
  • Implement system enhancements and process improvements to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of new location developments and capital expenditures.
  • Ensure effective cash flow management and minimize bad debt through optimized billing practices.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise and mentor a team including accounting, payroll, and systems administration professionals.
  • Manage the full accounting cycle, including month-end close, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with department heads to provide financial insights and support cost control initiatives.
  • Deliver actionable financial analysis to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Support system upgrades and process automation to enhance administrative operations.
  • Lead strategic planning for financial strategies and divisional performance improvements.
  • Ensure audit readiness and compliance with financial reporting standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with 7 years preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and managing divisional P&L.
  • Comfortable working in a multi-site retail or dealership environment.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving abilities.
