Job Description

Overview

  • Provide compassionate social work services in an inpatient behavioral health setting, supporting patients and families through therapy and comprehensive care planning.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments to inform effective treatment strategies and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Facilitate seamless care coordination by liaising with community resources and healthcare providers.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of behavioral health modalities to address diverse patient challenges.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and contribute to a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Support insurance utilization review processes and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for behavioral health patients.
  • Provide therapy and counseling services to address psychiatric and emotional needs.
  • Coordinate discharge planning and connect patients with community resources for continued support.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to implement effective interventions and monitor progress.
  • Ensure accurate documentation in electronic health records to maintain compliance and communication.
  • Assist with insurance reviews and advocate for patient needs within regulatory frameworks.
  • Contribute to policy development and quality improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment options and available community resources.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Eligibility for LCSW or LMHC licensure highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in behavioral health settings; 2 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and documentation practices.
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral health treatment modalities and family systems interventions.
  • Bilingual skills in English/Spanish preferred to enhance patient communication.
  • CANS certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
