Job Description

Overview

  • Provide compassionate nursing care to adult patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Assess and monitor patients' physical and mental health, contributing to tailored treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive and patient-centered care.
  • Utilize expertise in behavioral health and trauma-informed care to support recovery journeys.
  • Engage in crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies to maintain a therapeutic environment.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in psychiatric nursing.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' health conditions and document findings accurately.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments, closely monitoring patient responses.
  • Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and recovery strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards in all aspects of care.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress and optimize care strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and interventions.
  • Assist in crisis management and provide support during emergency situations.

Job Requirements

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license required; BSN preferred.
  • Associate of Science (AS) degree in Nursing minimum requirement.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health and trauma-informed care models.
  • Valid CPR certification and crisis management skills essential.
  • Experience in psychiatric or substance use disorder inpatient care preferred.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations effectively and professionally.
