Pricing Analyst

Overview

• Contribute to strategic pricing initiatives within a professional services environment, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client satisfaction.
• Collaborate with attorneys, clients, and stakeholders to develop and implement effective pricing strategies and fee arrangements.
• Provide analytical insights to support budgeting, rate management, and client negotiations for improved financial outcomes.
• Design and enhance financial models to support complex engagements and alternative fee arrangements.
• Analyze pricing provisions within guidelines, recommending revisions to optimize compliance and performance.
• Deliver detailed reporting on client, matter, and portfolio performance, highlighting trends and actionable insights.
• Support firmwide pricing initiatives, including rate analyses for proposals and strategic decisions.
• Participate in the annual rate review process, updating agreements and contributing to pricing best practices.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Prepare budget estimates and financial models for legal matters, ensuring accuracy and alignment with objectives.
• Maintain and update client-specific fee arrangements, collaborating with billing teams to resolve inquiries.
• Analyze pricing provisions and guidelines, providing recommendations for compliance improvements.
• Develop and deliver detailed reporting on financial performance and realization impacts.
• Serve as a point of contact for attorneys regarding pricing, budgeting, and reporting needs.
• Perform data analyses to ensure accuracy and integrity in reporting and recommendations.
• Support strategic pricing decisions through custom rate analyses and client negotiations.
• Contribute to the development of pricing tools and processes to enhance efficiency and analytical rigor.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a related field.
• Two to three years of experience in pricing or financial analysis roles, ideally within professional services.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with SQL or database querying is advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills, capable of translating complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting financial information to diverse audiences.
• High accountability and commitment to accuracy and quality in work products.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
• Experience with financial or accounting systems in a law firm is preferred.
