Overview
- Lead the facilities management operations of a healthcare organization, ensuring compliance with safety standards and effective maintenance of the physical plant.
- Oversee capital projects, utilities management, and life safety systems to support organizational goals and patient care services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement facility improvements and optimize operational efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and accreditation standards for healthcare facilities.
- Provide leadership and direction to the plant operations department, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Develop and manage budgets for facilities operations, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource allocation.
- Monitor and evaluate facility performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Support organizational growth by managing infrastructure expansion and modernization projects.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage maintenance and repair activities for the physical plant, utilities, and life safety systems.
- Coordinate capital project planning, execution, and completion within budget and timeline constraints.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare facility standards, including Joint Commission and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and mentor plant operations staff, promoting professional development and performance excellence.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for efficient facilities management operations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align facility management initiatives with organizational objectives.
- Monitor and report on facility performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement and operational effectiveness.
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts for outsourced services and equipment procurement.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in architecture, engineering, construction, or a related field preferred.
- Certified Health Care Facilities Manager (CHFM) certification preferred.
- Membership in the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) required within the first year of hire.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare facility operations, including 5 years in a management role.
- Proven expertise in managing large-scale healthcare facilities and infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for healthcare facilities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage budgets effectively and optimize resource allocation.
