Job Description

Overview

  • Contribute as a Specialty Pharmacist, ensuring precise dispensing and fulfillment of advanced therapies in a high-volume pharmacy setting.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to resolve clinical and logistical challenges, enhancing patient care and medication safety.
  • Leverage your expertise in specialty drug handling, focusing on GLP-1 drugs and oncology medications.
  • Utilize advanced pharmacy software systems for prescription processing, documentation, and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including REMS, payer requirements, and state/federal pharmacy laws.
  • Engage in a contract role with opportunities for renewal or conversion to permanent employment.
  • Work on-site full-time, contributing to the safe and accurate delivery of specialty medications.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Verify prescriptions for specialty medications, ensuring clinical appropriateness and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform final checks on dispensed products, maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Oversee fulfillment workflows, coordinating with pharmacy technicians to ensure timely medication shipments.
  • Utilize EPS pharmacy software for efficient prescription processing and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with prescribers, patients, and internal teams to address clinical or logistical issues effectively.
  • Focus on specialty drug handling, contributing to patient care and medication safety initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to REMS, payer requirements, and state/federal pharmacy laws.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or BSPharm; active pharmacist license in practicing state(s).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in specialty, mail-order, or high-volume dispensing environments.
  • Proficiency in EPS (Enterprise Pharmacy System) or similar pharmacy platforms preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and knowledge of specialty drug handling and fulfillment processes.
  • Ability to work on-site full-time, focusing on GLP-1 drugs and oncology medications.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with healthcare professionals and internal teams.
