Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing project drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
- Develop quantity take-offs, material pricing, labor estimates, and project timelines.
- Assist in bid proposals, budget development, and value engineering initiatives.
- Collaborate with project teams during preconstruction phases to support pricing strategies.
- Participate in bid reviews and presentations with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of pricing, subcontractors, and cost histories.
- Utilize estimating software to enhance efficiency and accuracy in cost assessments.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in commercial construction; 10 years preferred.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, ProEst, Sage, or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, industry practices, and cost estimation techniques.
- Experience in estimating projects within sectors like Commercial, Federal, Healthcare, or Higher Education.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
- On-site work arrangement to facilitate collaboration and project success.
