Overview

  • Lead evening nursing operations in a dynamic healthcare environment, ensuring optimal patient care and compliance with standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective care plans for residents.
  • Manage staffing schedules and ensure adequate resources for seamless unit operations.
  • Conduct audits and environmental rounds to maintain safety and compliance.
  • Address patient, resident, and family concerns, ensuring resolution and satisfaction.
  • Supervise licensed and ancillary personnel, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Participate in investigations and ensure documentation for regulatory compliance.
  • Support emergency response efforts, providing direction during critical situations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage nursing unit operations during evening shifts, ensuring efficient and safe practices.
  • Review medical records for compliance and oversee patient care management.
  • Conduct interdisciplinary care planning meetings and develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Respond to emergencies and oversee clinical care delivery.
  • Evaluate admissions and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, providing training and performance evaluations.
  • Monitor staffing levels and communicate scheduling requirements.
  • Participate in budget preparation and productivity monitoring.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum of 4 years clinical experience, including 2 years in management roles.
  • Experience in geriatric or nursing home settings strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in compliance, audits, and regulatory documentation.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage diverse teams.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations and provide effective direction.
  • Knowledge of interdisciplinary care planning and patient management.
  • Familiarity with staffing plans and resource allocation.
