Overview
- The Trademark Docketing Clerk will manage U.S. and foreign trademark prosecution tasks, ensuring accurate and timely updates in the electronic trademark database.
- Collaborate with the intellectual property team to oversee and integrate large client trademark portfolios into the database.
- Generate detailed reports on client trademark portfolios and upcoming deadlines, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Handle non-trademark intellectual property matters, including domain names, copyrights, and confiscations by customs authorities.
- Retrieve and analyze trademark information from various foreign trademark office websites for database updates.
- Track third-party applications for enforcement matters and manage contentious proceedings related to trademarks.
- Work in a hybrid environment, reporting to the co-chair of intellectual property.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Review correspondence to update the electronic trademark database, ensuring deadlines and relevant information are accurately recorded.
- Enter, update, and maintain records in CPi for domestic and international trademark matters.
- Analyze correspondence from foreign associates to identify deadlines and required updates in CPi.
- Generate and review reports detailing client trademark portfolios and upcoming deadlines.
- Manage integration of large client trademark portfolios into the firm's database.
- Track and oversee third-party applications for enforcement matters.
- Handle non-trademark IP matters, including domain names and copyrights, within CPi.
- Collaborate with the intellectual property team to ensure seamless operations and compliance.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certificate preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in trademark docketing; 7 years preferred.
- Proficiency in CPi trademark database management is essential.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Detail-oriented with extensive knowledge of trademark law and prosecution processes.
- Ability to manage large client portfolios and generate accurate reports.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills for tracking enforcement matters.
- Experience in handling non-trademark IP matters, including domain names and copyrights.
