Overview
- Lead the daily operations of the radiology service line, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
- Serve as a mentor and educator to staff, fostering professional growth and development.
- Maintain technical and digital imaging systems, ensuring optimal functionality and accuracy.
- Oversee patient charge accuracy and uphold productivity standards within the department.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation and performance improvement standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver exceptional patient care.
- Develop and update policies and procedures related to imaging safety.
- Support adult and geriatric patients, adhering to population-specific guidelines.
- Contribute to the organization’s mission of enhancing community health.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Coordinate staff schedules and address operational challenges with the Manager.
- Conduct interviews, orientations, evaluations, and disciplinary actions for technologists.
- Organize and lead monthly modality staff meetings, sharing minutes with leadership.
- Monitor daily productivity and implement action plans to meet standards.
- Ensure accurate exam completion, billing, and timely PACS submission.
- Maintain accreditation records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist with annual clinical competency assessments and evaluations for staff.
- Develop and implement cost reduction strategies and process improvements.
- Provide clinical education and support to staff and students.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree required.
- Current ARRT certification mandatory.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a staff technologist, preferably in the relevant modality.
- Preferred 5 years of experience and prior supervisory experience.
- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to coach and mentor staff.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain clinical certifications and competencies.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform other physical tasks.
- Commitment to adhering to National Patient Safety Goals and organizational policies.
