Overview
- Lead the conversion of international accounting methodologies to US tax basis for a global holding company and its subsidiaries.
- Develop and implement US tax planning strategies to identify opportunities and mitigate exposures within the corporate structure.
- Collaborate with subsidiary accountants to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting under US tax regulations.
- Provide expertise in international tax compliance, focusing on forms 8865, 5471, 3520, and 3520-A.
- Contribute to the development of a robust tax strategy aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Support the hiring and mentoring of junior accountants to build a strong tax team.
- Ensure compliance with US tax laws while addressing unique challenges posed by international operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate tax planning into broader business strategies.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee the conversion of foreign accounting books to US tax basis, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Delegate tasks to subsidiary accountants while providing guidance and support for complex tax issues.
- Prepare and review tax filings, including forms 8865, 5471, 3520, and 3520-A.
- Identify and address potential tax exposures and opportunities within the corporate structure.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in tax accounting, with a preference for 20 years.
- Proven expertise in international tax compliance and planning.
- Experience with forms 8865, 5471, 3520, and 3520-A is essential.
- Ability to manage complex tax conversions and collaborate with subsidiary accountants.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address tax exposures and opportunities.
- Leadership capabilities to mentor junior accountants and build a cohesive team.
- Familiarity with mid-sized or boutique firm practices preferred over Big 4 experience.
