Job Description

Overview

  • Provide clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers in a dynamic medical office setting.
  • Assist in patient care, including vital signs, specimen collection, and documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Ensure smooth patient flow and communication within the medical office environment.
  • Support initiatives to enhance patient care and satisfaction, including outreach campaigns.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver age-specific care and services.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions with patients and staff.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, including dress code and punctuality.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in electronic medical record systems within three months of training.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Warmly greet patients and guests, ensuring a welcoming environment.
  • Monitor patient flow and address registration, check-in, and check-out processes.
  • Schedule appointments accurately and verify insurance coverage.
  • Assist in direct patient care, including physical exams and diagnostic procedures.
  • Collect and label specimens, prepare for laboratory collection.
  • Document patient care information in electronic medical records accurately.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow up on appointments.
  • Support healthcare initiatives such as vaccination campaigns and health surveys.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or eligibility for certification exam.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in an ambulatory care setting required; 3 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in navigating electronic medical records systems required.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to handle patient interactions professionally.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving direct patient care and diagnostic procedures.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours between 8 AM and 6 PM daily.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to organizational policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
