Overview
- Lead and manage accounting operations, ensuring integrity in financial reporting and compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial strategies.
- Oversee preparation of financial statements and executive summaries to track organizational performance.
- Evaluate and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate reporting.
- Manage external audits, preparing documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
- Direct special projects related to accounting and finance functions as assigned by senior management.
- Support reforecasting initiatives by analyzing trends and collaborating with management.
- Ensure compliance with departmental budgets and control costs effectively.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statement preparation.
- Collaborate with financial planning teams to develop annual budgets and multi-year forecasts.
- Prepare and oversee monthly financial statements and executive summaries.
- Review departmental expense reports to ensure budget compliance and cost control.
- Evaluate and enhance internal financial controls to safeguard assets and ensure reporting accuracy.
- Manage external audits, preparing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries.
- Direct and implement special projects related to accounting and finance functions.
- Support periodic reforecasting by analyzing trends and collaborating with management.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Controller in a corporate setting.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience required.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and accounting software such as NetSuite.
- Strong interpersonal skills, maturity, judgment, and effective communication abilities.
- Experience in cooperative accounting is a plus.
- Ability to travel nationally for company-sponsored events (10%).
