Job Description

Overview

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver architectural solutions for diverse markets, including healthcare, education, residential, and commercial sectors.
  • Lead project teams, ensuring alignment with client requirements and project objectives through effective communication and coordination.
  • Participate in client meetings, design discussions, and construction administration to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
  • Develop technical designs and construction documents, adhering to industry standards and regulatory codes.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment through collaboration, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Utilize CAD software, including AutoCAD and Revit, for design and documentation purposes.
  • Support the Project Manager in managing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables effectively.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in architectural practices.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate with subconsultants and internal teams to ensure project milestones are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Delegate tasks to project technicians, ensuring quality and adherence to project specifications.
  • Prepare and review design documents, ensuring compliance with New York State building codes and regulations.
  • Facilitate design and planning discussions, contributing innovative solutions to architectural challenges.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and address any issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and translate it into functional and aesthetic designs.
  • Maintain project documentation and records, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for stakeholders.
  • Support the development of graphic presentations to communicate design concepts effectively.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Registered Architect in New York State preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of architectural experience, with 10 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Thorough understanding of New York State building codes and regulations.
  • Experience with NYS OGS and government agencies is advantageous.
  • Strong technical design and construction document skills.
  • Excellent graphic presentation and project planning abilities.
