Overview

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of estimating for construction projects, ensuring accurate cost projections and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to align estimates with project requirements and timelines.
  • Utilize Sage/Timberline software and On-Screen Takeoff for precise calculations and documentation.
  • Contribute to the growth and training of junior estimators to build a robust estimating team.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all estimating activities.
  • Participate in strategic planning to optimize estimating processes and improve project profitability.
  • Work in a collaborative and laid-back environment focused on public construction projects.
  • Contribute to projects such as fire stations, schools, and emergency management facilities.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Review project plans and specifications to identify scope and requirements.
  • Coordinate with project managers and field teams to ensure alignment on project estimates.
  • Utilize estimating software tools like Sage/Timberline and On-Screen Takeoff for accurate calculations.
  • Train and mentor junior estimators to enhance team capabilities.
  • Monitor project budgets and provide updates to stakeholders as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating; 7 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in Sage/Timberline and On-Screen Takeoff software.
  • Strong knowledge of public construction projects and related regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with project managers and field teams.
  • Ability to train and mentor junior estimators.
