Job Description

Overview

  • Provide genetic counseling services, assessing individual and family risks for inherited conditions and birth defects.
  • Support informed decision-making and coping strategies for patients and families at risk.
  • Conduct research related to genetic conditions and counseling methodologies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Work in a dynamic environment focused on fertility and genetic health.
  • Engage in both onsite and remote work settings as required.
  • Contribute to advancing genetic counseling practices and patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Analyze and interpret genetic test results and family histories to identify risks.
  • Advise patients on inherited disorders, recurrence risks, and management options.
  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend medical or genetic testing.
  • Provide counseling for couples regarding genetic risks in family planning.
  • Coordinate treatment plans and interpret diagnostic data.
  • Explain diagnostic procedures and assist patients in understanding outcomes.
  • Support patients emotionally and psychologically during genetic testing processes.
  • Maintain meticulous records of patient histories and test results.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure patient-centered care and support.

Job Requirements

  • Master's degree from an ABGC-accredited university is required.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in genetic counseling.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in fertility-related genetic counseling.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in time management and critical-thinking skills.
  • Compassionate approach to patient care and counseling.
  • Understanding of PGT-M/PGT-A implications and procedures.
