Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Analyze and interpret genetic test results and family histories to identify risks.
- Advise patients on inherited disorders, recurrence risks, and management options.
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend medical or genetic testing.
- Provide counseling for couples regarding genetic risks in family planning.
- Coordinate treatment plans and interpret diagnostic data.
- Explain diagnostic procedures and assist patients in understanding outcomes.
- Support patients emotionally and psychologically during genetic testing processes.
- Maintain meticulous records of patient histories and test results.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure patient-centered care and support.
Job Requirements
- Master's degree from an ABGC-accredited university is required.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in genetic counseling.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in fertility-related genetic counseling.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in time management and critical-thinking skills.
