Job Description

Overview

  • Lead patient education and therapy coordination for enzyme therapies, ensuring optimal treatment outcomes and adherence.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and multidisciplinary teams to support therapy initiation and ongoing patient care.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on therapy administration, safety protocols, and compliance strategies.
  • Provide logistical support for therapy access, including insurance navigation and financial assistance.
  • Contribute to advocacy and training initiatives to promote awareness and education on enzyme therapies.
  • Work remotely with significant travel to engage directly with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Deliver impactful presentations to diverse audiences, enhancing understanding of therapy benefits and processes.
  • Participate in regional and national projects to advance therapeutic education and patient support.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate therapy initiation and adherence activities for patients in enzyme therapy programs.
  • Secure patient consent and educate on therapy coverage, access, and administration processes.
  • Collaborate with specialty pharmacy teams to facilitate home infusion therapy.
  • Report adverse events and product complaints in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Influence team strategies and contribute to cross-functional initiatives and best practices.
  • Provide disease-specific education to patients, caregivers, and clinical staff.
  • Resolve access challenges pre- and post-therapy infusion in collaboration with field teams.
  • Act as a liaison for advocacy groups and contribute to field training efforts.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent allied health education required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in pharmaceutical patient education or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.com for effective role performance.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills essential.
  • Ability to adapt and lead solutions in dynamic healthcare environments.
  • Spanish fluency preferred to enhance patient communication and support.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, approximately 50% field travel required.
  • Experience in team environments and managing cross-functional communications effectively.
