Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage day-to-day operations, including staffing, patient flow, and resource allocation during shifts.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and supervision to nursing staff, ensuring clinical excellence.
- Monitor compliance with clinical protocols, policies, and regulatory standards.
- Serve as a liaison between staff, patients, families, and hospital leadership.
- Identify and address operational or clinical issues promptly to enhance outcomes.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with specialty areas for seamless patient transitions and long-term outcomes.
- Ensure effective communication within the department and with external stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Current RN license or eligibility to practice in the District of Columbia.
- Minimum of 4 years of emergency department nursing experience; 5 years preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role within emergency care.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; TNCC and CEN preferred.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
