Overview

  • Lead mechanical engineering efforts for high-reliability systems in regulated domains, ensuring structural integrity under extreme environmental conditions.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver electromechanical systems meeting stringent MIL-STD-810 requirements.
  • Perform advanced simulations to predict and mitigate real-world failure modes, ensuring system robustness.
  • Drive design for manufacturing and reliability across the product lifecycle, ensuring production readiness.
  • Mentor engineering teams, setting high standards for mechanical design and execution.
  • Author and review detailed mechanical design documentation, including drawings and validation protocols.
  • Lead prototype builds and collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs meet performance criteria.
  • Identify mechanical risks early, establish mitigation strategies, and conduct senior-level design reviews.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Own mechanical architecture for electromechanical systems, ensuring compliance with MIL-STD-810 standards.
  • Establish design direction for structural robustness and reliability in harsh environments.
  • Perform and critically evaluate simulations for vibration, shock, and thermal conditions.
  • Drive electromechanical integration, ensuring precise alignment of sensors, actuators, and control systems.
  • Lead qualification testing and failure analysis for safety-critical products.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure production-ready designs without compromising performance.
  • Enforce design for manufacturing and reliability principles throughout development stages.
  • Mentor engineering teams, raising mechanical engineering standards across the organization.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a top-tier institution.
  • 10+ years of experience in high-reliability mechanical systems design.
  • Expertise in electromechanical integration and structural simulations.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or Creo.
  • Strong knowledge of MIL-STD-810 environmental durability standards.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping, additive manufacturing, and complex assemblies.
  • Advanced understanding of fluid dynamics, thermal management, and heat transfer.
  • Proven track record in delivering designs from R&D to production.
