Job Description

Overview

  • Provide specialized speech-language therapy services to students in a supportive educational environment.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to students' needs.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assess students' speech-language skills to identify therapy needs and goals.
  • Provide therapy services as mandated by Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Document therapy sessions and maintain accurate records in compliance with regulations.
  • Offer training and guidance to parents for effective home communication practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop comprehensive support strategies for students.
  • Participate in staff development activities and in-service training sessions.
  • Meet regularly with supervisors to discuss progress and receive feedback.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent qualification.
  • New York State certification as Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped or equivalent.
  • Professional license as a Speech-Language Pathologist is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in speech-language therapy.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills for maintaining therapy records.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented educational environment.
