- Execute payroll tax filings and payments across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Resolve payroll tax inquiries and issues efficiently, meeting service level agreements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve payroll tax processes and documentation.
- Support team development through onboarding and knowledge transfer activities.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal payroll tax regulations.
- Participate in team meetings and retrospectives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Adapt to a dynamic work environment, ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Execute quarterly and annual payroll tax filings for multiple jurisdictions.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll tax payments during quarter-end cycles.
- Resolve payroll tax inquiries and issues submitted via internal tickets.
- Collaborate with teams to identify systemic improvements in payroll tax processes.
- Maintain and update documentation for payroll tax processes in Confluence.
- Proactively identify risks and escalate them to the Pod Lead for resolution.
- Support onboarding and training for new team members to ensure smooth transitions.
- Participate in team health checks and retrospectives to enhance performance.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll tax, accounting, or finance.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll tax processes and multi-state payroll operations.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel and payroll software systems.
- Strong organizational, detail-oriented, and process-driven skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- APA Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred.
- Experience with Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs) is a plus.
