Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and optimize billing operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in alignment with organizational policies and client requirements.
  • Utilize advanced data analytics tools to generate actionable insights and prepare detailed financial reports.
  • Manage electronic billing platforms, troubleshoot issues, and ensure adherence to client-specific guidelines.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and implement process improvements for enhanced operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and reconcile accounts to ensure timely billing cycles and accurate revenue recognition.
  • Support data integrity in conflict searches and new matter intake processes.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and clients to resolve billing inquiries effectively.
  • Maintain audit readiness by ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee daily billing operations, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing and adherence to policies.
  • Generate and interpret billing metrics to support financial forecasting and performance tracking.
  • Lead proactive collections efforts, coordinating with attorneys and clients to resolve payment delays.
  • Utilize advanced analytics tools like Thomson Reuters 3E and Power BI for reporting and insights.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, organizational policies, and external regulations.
  • Troubleshoot electronic billing rejections and ensure compliance with client-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with finance leadership to implement best practices for operational enhancement.
  • Support conflict search and new matter intake processes, maintaining data integrity and accuracy.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in legal billing within a professional services environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic billing systems and invoicing processes, with expertise in Thomson Reuters 3E and Power BI.
  • Strong command of Excel; familiarity with SQL is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to improve billing workflows and enhance operational accuracy.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to excellence.
