Job Description

Overview

  • Provide advanced medical assistance, including patient care, diagnostic screenings, and administrative support, in a collaborative healthcare environment.
  • Perform clinical duties such as vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and specimen collection with precision and adherence to protocols.
  • Utilize electronic medical records systems for accurate documentation and patient data management.
  • Collaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to process improvements and deliver education/training to fellow medical assistants.
  • Provide bilingual communication in English and Spanish to enhance patient experience.
  • Participate in the company's Tuberculosis screening program as part of patient-facing responsibilities.
  • Work on-site with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Discuss symptoms with patients and obtain vital signs for accurate assessments.
  • Administer medications and vaccines following established guidelines and protocols.
  • Perform phlebotomy and diagnostic screening tests with proficiency.
  • Sterilize and clean medical equipment to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Maintain examination rooms and ensure readiness for patient care.
  • Document patient information into electronic medical records systems accurately.
  • Provide advanced guidance and mentoring to other medical assistants.
  • Adapt procedures and techniques based on discretion and judgment.

Job Requirements

  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with 2+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy and medication/vaccine administration.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate of Applied Science preferred.
  • CPR certification and knowledge of Value-Based Care practices.
  • Experience with HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish; must pass proficiency exam.
  • Participation in the Tuberculosis screening program required.
  • Local travel may be required; mileage reimbursement provided.
