Overview
- The Senior Accountant role involves managing complex accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting organizational financial strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure transactions are accurately reflected in financial statements.
- Lead and mentor accounting personnel, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Investigate discrepancies and recommend resolutions to enhance financial accuracy and compliance.
- Contribute to the development of accounting policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls.
- Participate in month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Support external audit processes by preparing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform month-end reporting, including preparation and analysis of financial statements.
- Review and reconcile consolidated intercompany transactions, resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Document and improve accounting processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist in the preparation of documentation for external audits.
- Lead and support staff accountants in achieving accurate and timely reporting.
- Analyze and document variance in financial statements, providing actionable insights.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure accurate financial transaction recording.
- Participate in ad hoc reporting requests and special projects as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of related accounting experience, preferably with a service provider.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills; Hyperion and Great Plains experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including FASB/GAAP and SOX compliance.
- CPA certification with public accounting/audit experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
