Job Description

Overview

  • The Senior Accountant role involves managing complex accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting organizational financial strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure transactions are accurately reflected in financial statements.
  • Lead and mentor accounting personnel, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Investigate discrepancies and recommend resolutions to enhance financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Contribute to the development of accounting policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls.
  • Participate in month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Support external audit processes by preparing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform month-end reporting, including preparation and analysis of financial statements.
  • Review and reconcile consolidated intercompany transactions, resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Document and improve accounting processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation for external audits.
  • Lead and support staff accountants in achieving accurate and timely reporting.
  • Analyze and document variance in financial statements, providing actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure accurate financial transaction recording.
  • Participate in ad hoc reporting requests and special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related accounting experience, preferably with a service provider.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills; Hyperion and Great Plains experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including FASB/GAAP and SOX compliance.
  • CPA certification with public accounting/audit experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Outgoing, friendly, and collaborative personality to foster teamwork.
