Job Description

Overview

  • Join a dynamic private equity firm as a Fund Accountant, contributing to financial reporting, audits, tax compliance, and special projects.
  • Collaborate with a highly skilled team to maintain accurate financial records and support operational processes.
  • Engage in quarterly and annual reporting, ensuring compliance and precision in all financial activities.
  • Work closely with the Controller and other departments, including Investor Relations and Compliance.
  • Contribute to the firm’s growth by supporting tax processes and responding to investor inquiries.
  • Enhance your expertise in private equity financial operations and reporting standards.
  • Participate in a hybrid work environment, combining remote and on-site collaboration.
  • Utilize advanced tools like Microsoft Excel, Word, and QuickBooks to streamline processes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Maintain books and records for management companies, including cash monitoring and accounts payable preparation.
  • Support quarterly portfolio company invoicing and monthly employee expense report processing.
  • Participate in quarterly and annual reporting, reviewing capital call and distribution notices.
  • Collaborate with third-party administrators to track capital calls and distributions.
  • Assist in portfolio company tax estimate processes and annual tax reporting, including 1099s and K-1s.
  • Coordinate responses to investor requests and audit confirmations.
  • Work closely with the Chief Compliance Officer and Investor Relations for compliance and reporting.
  • Support ad hoc requests from Finance and Operations teams.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA certification is advantageous.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in private equity or credit firms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and QuickBooks.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and eagerness to learn new skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
  • Knowledge of tax processes and investor reporting standards.
  • Experience in financial reporting and compliance within private equity.
