Job Description

Overview

  • Manage comprehensive accounting processes for a family office, including investment reporting and operational accounting across diverse entities and structures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Support strategic financial planning and analysis to optimize investment performance and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and accounting procedures to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Coordinate with external advisors for tax preparation, audits, and regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to process improvements and scalability initiatives for the accounting function.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making by family stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the CFO to align accounting practices with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee investment accounting, including tracking capital calls, distributions, and fund commitments.
  • Prepare and maintain financial statements for family entities and operating companies.
  • Manage general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and cash reconciliations.
  • Coordinate intercompany accounting processes and eliminations.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis activities.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in tax preparation.
  • Implement best practices for accounting processes and reporting improvements.
  • Participate in audits and reviews to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience; 15 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in investment accounting and entity-level accounting practices.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems used in family offices.
  • Experience in public accounting or financial services environments is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage detailed transactional work.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work on-site and contribute to a dynamic team environment.
