Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and manage the organization's claims program, focusing on workers' compensation and other coverage lines.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure efficient claims handling.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate risks and reduce overall claim costs effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and implement industry best practices.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to claims staff and external administrators.
  • Analyze claims data and prepare detailed reports on financial impacts and performance metrics.
  • Engage in complex claims management, including litigation and return-to-work strategies.
  • Stay updated on evolving regulations and adapt processes accordingly.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee claims programs across workers' compensation, general liability, auto, and property lines.
  • Collaborate with HR, Safety, and Legal teams to mitigate risks and prevent claims.
  • Manage relationships with TPAs, insurers, adjusters, attorneys, and medical providers.
  • Ensure proper financial reserving and efficient claims handling practices.
  • Develop and implement performance metrics and dashboards for claims activity.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to claims staff and external administrators.
  • Analyze data to negotiate settlements and reduce claim costs effectively.
  • Implement best practices and ensure compliance with workers' compensation statutes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of claims management experience across multiple coverage lines.
  • Strong knowledge of workers' compensation statutes and claims handling processes.
  • Experience managing TPAs, claims staff, and external vendors.
  • Proven ability to analyze data, negotiate settlements, and reduce claim costs.
  • Industry designations such as ARM, AIC, CPCU, or WCCP are preferred.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to adapt to regulatory changes and implement best practices.
