- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and professional development of nursing staff to maintain a culture of accountability and teamwork.
- Ensure readiness for burn emergencies and disaster response protocols, supporting interdisciplinary communication and collaboration.
- Participate in budget planning and resource optimization to maintain high standards of patient care while controlling costs.
- Contribute to policy development, protocol updates, and community outreach initiatives to advance burn care services.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff across burn inpatient and outpatient services, ensuring competency and engagement.
- Direct daily operations, including patient flow, supply management, and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Monitor infection control practices, patient outcomes, and documentation quality to ensure compliance with standards.
- Address patient and family concerns professionally, supporting education and coordinated follow-up care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure medication safety and EMR documentation accuracy.
- Optimize staffing efficiency, equipment procurement, and operational workflows to enhance resource management.
- Support community outreach and education initiatives to promote burn care awareness and partnerships.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Current Louisiana RN license with certifications in BLS and ACLS; PALS and ABLS preferred.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of clinical experience in burn or critical care specialties.
- 2–3 years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting, managing teams and operations.
- Proficiency in EMR systems and understanding of financial management principles.
- Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments.
- Knowledge of quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory standards in burn care.
