Overview
- Serve as a Commercial Estimator for a leading construction firm, managing cost estimation for projects ranging from $5M to $15M.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate budgeting and resource allocation for construction initiatives.
- Utilize industry-standard estimation tools and methodologies to deliver precise project cost assessments.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with subcontractors and vendors to optimize procurement processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and client requirements in all estimation activities.
- Contribute to the development of competitive bids and proposals for new business opportunities.
- Participate in project planning meetings to align estimation strategies with organizational goals.
- Analyze historical data and market trends to refine estimation accuracy and cost forecasting.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, ensuring alignment with client specifications and budgets.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to gather necessary project details.
- Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate contracts to achieve cost-effective solutions.
- Monitor project progress and update cost estimates as needed to reflect changes.
- Develop and maintain a database of cost information for future reference and analysis.
- Provide insights and recommendations to enhance project profitability and efficiency.
- Ensure all estimation documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and submitted within deadlines.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and presentations for stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial construction estimation; 5 years preferred.
- Proven track record with projects ranging from $5M to $15M.
- Strong tenure with no more than three employers in the last 10 years.
- Proficiency in industry-standard estimation software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate cost assessments.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills for vendor and subcontractor interactions.
- Ability to work on-site and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
