Overview
- Serve as the initial point of contact for patient care, providing essential administrative and clinical support.
- Perform semi-routine assignments with moderate complexity under minimal supervision, adhering to defined policies and standards.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and nurses to deliver high-quality patient care and support.
- Utilize electronic medical records systems for accurate data entry and patient information management.
- Administer injections, perform diagnostic tests, and collect specimens as per certification guidelines.
- Maintain and sterilize medical equipment and examination rooms to ensure a safe environment.
- Engage in direct patient care activities, including discussing symptoms and providing assistance during examinations.
- Contribute to the organization's patient care initiatives, focusing on quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform clinical duties such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and assisting in diagnostic procedures.
- Input patient information into electronic medical records systems accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and operational efficiency.
- Sterilize and maintain medical instruments and examination rooms to uphold hygiene standards.
- Assist in patient education regarding treatments, procedures, and health management.
- Participate in the organization's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program as part of patient-facing responsibilities.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies in all activities.
- Support value-based care initiatives, including HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and patient experience programs.
Job Requirements
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program or certification/registration as a Medical Assistant.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate of Applied Science (AAS) preferred.
- CPR certification and compliance with Tuberculosis (TB) screening requirements.
- Experience in phlebotomy, medication/vaccine administration, and patient care activities.
- Knowledge of value-based care practices, including HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and patient experience metrics.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with successful completion of a proficiency exam.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively within defined parameters.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
