Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as the first point of contact for patient care, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Perform a combination of administrative and clinical duties to support efficient healthcare delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and nurses to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Utilize electronic medical records systems for accurate documentation and patient information management.
  • Conduct vital signs measurements, injections, diagnostic tests, and specimen collection.
  • Maintain and sterilize medical equipment and examination rooms to ensure compliance with health standards.
  • Provide direct patient care within the scope of active certifications and training.
  • Work under minimal supervision, adhering to policies and quality standards with some discretion for prioritization.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Discuss symptoms with patients and input information into electronic medical records systems.
  • Administer medications and vaccines as per certification and training guidelines.
  • Perform diagnostic tests, collect specimens, and draw blood for laboratory analysis.
  • Ensure examination rooms are clean, organized, and equipped for patient consultations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Follow standard policies and practices, allowing for interpretation and independent discretion.
  • Participate in the organization's Tuberculosis screening program as required.
  • Adhere to Value-Based Care principles, including HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.

Job Requirements

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or certification/registration as a Medical Assistant.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate of Applied Science preferred.
  • CPR certification and compliance with Tuberculosis screening requirements.
  • Experience in phlebotomy and medication/vaccine administration is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Value-Based Care, including HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and patient experience metrics.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred; proficiency exam required.
  • Ability to work on-site and collaborate effectively within a healthcare team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in clinical and administrative tasks.
