Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to cardiovascular surgery patients during preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.
- Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and manage medical equipment with precision and care.
- Coordinate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure seamless procedural operations and patient safety.
- Document patient care activities comprehensively and maintain accurate medical records for continuity of care.
- Educate patients and families about recovery processes, health management, and preventive care strategies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes.
- Maintain proficiency in cardiac nursing techniques and technologies through ongoing training and education.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution is required.
- Current Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license in New York State is mandatory.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; advanced certifications are preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in cardiovascular procedures; 5 years preferred.
- Proficiency in English communication and computer skills is essential for effective documentation and collaboration.
- Strong clinical expertise in cardiac nursing and patient care management is highly valued.
