Job Description

Overview

  • Provide medical support to healthcare providers and assist in clinical activities under the Nurse Manager's supervision.
  • Ensure exam rooms are prepared, cleaned, and stocked for patient encounters.
  • Organize and prepare patient summary sheets and charts for daily clinic operations.
  • Obtain vital signs and chief complaints from patients during visits.
  • Document patient information and vital signs accurately in electronic medical records.
  • Perform phlebotomy and assist with patient care as directed by medical providers.
  • Maintain universal precautions and adhere to clinical safety protocols.
  • Support diverse patient populations including pediatrics, adults, and individuals from various backgrounds.
  • Adapt to schedule changes including late clinics and potential weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and organize patient charts and summary sheets for daily clinic operations.
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patient encounters.
  • Escort patients from the lobby to exam rooms and obtain their chief complaints.
  • Measure and document vital signs as per provider preferences.
  • Assist medical providers with patient care and clinical procedures.
  • Perform phlebotomy and other clinical tasks as required.
  • Maintain universal precautions and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Provide support to a diverse patient population including individuals from various backgrounds.
  • Adapt to evolving schedules including late clinics and potential weekend shifts.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Medical Assistant certification is mandatory.
  • Previous healthcare experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records systems is essential.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred for effective communication.
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to work with diverse patient populations.
  • Ability to adapt to schedule changes including late clinics and weekend shifts.
