Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and manage the Neuro Trauma ICU and Central Telemetry Unit, ensuring high-quality patient-centered care and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance clinical practices and improve patient outcomes through evidence-based approaches.
  • Develop and implement strategies to elevate patient satisfaction and experience within the unit.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, policies, and procedures to maintain accreditation and quality benchmarks.
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet patient care needs effectively.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, fostering professional growth and engagement.
  • Manage operating expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities within the department.
  • Represent the organization positively in community events and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Monitor and evaluate nursing practices to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate effective interdisciplinary care coordination to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Lead efforts to achieve internal and external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations.
  • Support a culture of accountability and transparency in clinical practices.
  • Identify training needs and provide coaching to enhance staff performance and competencies.
  • Manage admissions and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient throughput.
  • Implement evidence-based practices to improve patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and compliance with accreditation standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, with active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
  • Minimum of 3 years of acute care leadership experience, preferably in ICU settings.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills to manage a multidisciplinary team effectively.
  • Proven ability to manage operating expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
