Overview

  • Lead and manage operations within the Mother Baby Unit, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement best practices and optimize patient care delivery systems.
  • Support investigations into patient concerns, fostering a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff.
  • Maintain clinical expertise and provide supervision to ensure competency and adherence to licensing requirements.
  • Allocate resources effectively within the unit to optimize staff utilization and operational efficiency.
  • Supervise equipment, supplies, and medication usage to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to team members, promoting professional growth and performance improvement.
  • Ensure readiness for regulatory surveys and audits, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate daily operations of the Mother Baby Unit, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and standards.
  • Monitor and supervise patient care delivery, ensuring adherence to clinical and utilization standards.
  • Facilitate team meetings and decision-making processes to address operational challenges and improve performance.
  • Develop and implement work plans, allocating resources to meet business priorities and deadlines.
  • Oversee emergency preparedness programs, ensuring staff training and readiness for critical situations.
  • Monitor and improve quality and safety standards within the unit, addressing escalated issues effectively.
  • Supervise multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration and accountability for achieving operational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, maintaining survey readiness and mitigating compliance risks.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, with a valid California Registered Nurse License.
  • Minimum three years of experience in clinical healthcare or business operations, with one year in a leadership role.
  • Basic Life Support certification required at hire, ensuring readiness for patient care emergencies.
  • Proven ability to supervise and coordinate multidisciplinary teams in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards, including The Joint Commission requirements.
  • Experience in resource allocation, operational planning, and performance monitoring within a healthcare environment.
  • Ability to mentor and coach team members, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
