Overview

  • Lead billing and collections operations for a law firm, ensuring accurate invoicing and effective receivables management.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and finance teams to optimize revenue and client service objectives.
  • Supervise a team of 10, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Implement billing strategies to enhance realization and streamline accounts receivable processes.
  • Develop and refine policies aligned with industry standards and client requirements.
  • Provide insightful reporting and analysis to senior leadership for informed decision-making.
  • Stay updated on legal billing trends and implement best practices to improve operations.
  • Support special projects and initiatives to enhance firmwide financial performance.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee end-to-end billing and collections operations, ensuring compliance with client agreements.
  • Develop strategies to optimize revenue realization and cash flow.
  • Collaborate with practice leaders to address billing and collection challenges proactively.
  • Validate billing rates and fee arrangements to minimize write-offs and rejections.
  • Monitor aging accounts and drive timely resolution of collection issues.
  • Manage and mentor teams, ensuring effective coverage during peak periods.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reporting on billing and collections metrics.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Lead special projects and implement enhancements to billing systems.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of billing and collections experience in a law firm setting.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience managing teams effectively.
  • Proficiency in legal billing systems, such as Elite 3E, and financial tools.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities for collaboration.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Associate of Science degree required; advanced certifications are a plus.
  • Demonstrated discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
