Overview
- Provide high-quality nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting.
- Work during night shifts from 11 PM to 7 AM, including rotating weekends.
- Collaborate with Registered Nurses and Clinical Care Managers to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
- Perform charge nurse responsibilities as assigned, overseeing patient care activities.
- Utilize your expertise in geriatric care to address patient needs effectively.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards in all nursing practices.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation for continuity of care.
- Participate in in-person interviews to demonstrate your qualifications and commitment.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to protocols.
- Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the supervising Registered Nurse.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, promoting comfort and dignity.
- Supervise and guide nursing aides in their duties to ensure quality care delivery.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and emergencies, providing immediate assistance.
- Conduct patient assessments and document findings accurately in medical records.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance nursing skills.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff members.
Job Requirements
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of New York.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing.
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and IV certification required.
- Commitment to working every other weekend as part of the schedule.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff.
- Ability to perform charge nurse responsibilities and oversee patient care activities.
