Job Description

Overview

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting.
  • Work during night shifts from 11 PM to 7 AM, including rotating weekends.
  • Collaborate with Registered Nurses and Clinical Care Managers to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Perform charge nurse responsibilities as assigned, overseeing patient care activities.
  • Utilize your expertise in geriatric care to address patient needs effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards in all nursing practices.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation for continuity of care.
  • Participate in in-person interviews to demonstrate your qualifications and commitment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to protocols.
  • Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the supervising Registered Nurse.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, promoting comfort and dignity.
  • Supervise and guide nursing aides in their duties to ensure quality care delivery.
  • Respond promptly to patient calls and emergencies, providing immediate assistance.
  • Conduct patient assessments and document findings accurately in medical records.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance nursing skills.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff members.

Job Requirements

  • Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of New York.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing.
  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and IV certification required.
  • Commitment to working every other weekend as part of the schedule.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff.
  • Ability to perform charge nurse responsibilities and oversee patient care activities.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.
