Job Description

Overview

  • Contribute to the Revenue Accounting team by accurately recording and analyzing revenue from oil, gas, and liquid sales.
  • Perform volume and price analysis, new well setup, and monthly accruals to ensure compliance and financial accuracy.
  • Handle general ledger reconciliations and assist with royalty owner inquiries for operated and non-operated properties.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve issues and manage cross-functional projects effectively.
  • Generate financial and production reports for management and external parties, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
  • File required reports with state regulators and process adjustments for prior periods.
  • Engage in invoice processing for gas sales and purchases, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
  • Maintain and update revenue guidelines for royalty disbursement processes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare monthly accruals for Gas, NGL, and Condensate by collaborating with the Marketing Department.
  • Ensure accurate setup and maintenance of new and established wells in accordance with revenue guidelines.
  • Record and post revenues and volumes for oil, gas, condensate, and NGLs from production data.
  • Invoice counterparties for gas sales and process payments for gas purchases.
  • Reconcile revenue-related general ledger accounts and balance sheet items monthly.
  • File reports with state regulators, including VGOB, Federal and State Backup Withholding, and 1099s.
  • Process and post adjustments for volume, price, cost, and ownership changes for prior periods.
  • Generate financial and production reports for management and external parties.
  • Collaborate with Land, Production, Marketing, and Operations teams to resolve issues effectively.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably with an E&P company.
  • Strong team and relationship-building skills to engage multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP or other ERP systems, and QRA software.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage cross-functional, ad hoc projects.
  • Office-based position requiring strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to generate accurate financial and production reports for stakeholders.
